Cushman & Wakefield Residential Market Commentary – March 2018

Februarys UK House Price Index (UK HPI) recorded falling prices (month-on-month) in five of England's nine regions, alongside strong growth in both the West Midlands and the North East. 


Monthly sales transaction figures for December 2017 once again highlighted an ongoing trend of shrinking sales volumes.  Nationally transactions were down 21% on December 2016, and a significant 38% down on the pre-2007/2008 market downturn annual average of c.100,000 sales per calender month.
